Job title: Senior Market Analyst (aka Business Development Executive)

We are currently looking to recruit a professional, self-motivated and proactive individual, who would enjoy a varied role as part of our busy Client Pre-Engagement Team. 

To be successful in this role you will need strong interpersonal and written communication skills, have excellent IT and presentation skills and be highly committed to quality and excellence. 

The role will be a mixture of tele-marketing and appointment setting, supporting our M&A advisors by acting on market intelligence to engage with business owners, arrange introductory meetings and develop relationships through to proposal of our services. The role would ideally suit someone with previous experience in the B2B tech sector or who has already taken the first steps in the world of Corporate Finance.  As part of the role’s training and development programme you will receive on the job training, a team mentor and ongoing training courses.  This is a great opportunity to springboard your Corporate Finance career.

We have offices in London and on the south coast in Chichester. This role is based from our Chichester office, so candidates need to live within an easy daily commute of Chichester, West Sussex.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • To develop sub-sector market intelligence to identify companies which match our target profile for buyers and business owners looking to exit.
  • To engage directly with leaders and management teams of ICT companies to validate company performance data and strategic objectives.
  • To provide research analysis to support client presentations with research data.
  • To enhance client relationship management of longer term prospects.
  • To contribute to company strategies supporting client engagement and marketing.
  • Confidently approach business owners, with view to setting appointments for our M&A Advisors.
  • Achieve quarterly KPIs, in line with Company objectives.
  • To collaborate with third party data providers and strategic partners where necessary.
  • To improve data management and company search, researching new businesses in the tech sector and updating the database using various research resources.

Skills & capabilities

  • Graduate (2:1 minimum), preferably with a CFA or business qualification, or comparable practical experience.
  • Be driven to exceed client expectations; you will be involved in both existing client projects and helping win new business opportunities.
  • A strong people person: you will be a highly motivated team player with the ability to take responsibility for your own projects, whilst working in a unique and highly interdependent team culture.
  • Have lots of energy and versatility: great project and time management skills will provide the ability to work under pressure to deliver multiple projects to a high quality.
  • Exceptionally numerate, work accurately and methodically. Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret companies financial accounts.
  • Have a professional, confident approach, capable of conversing with C-Level executives.
  • Possess excellent IT skills, to include knowledge of CRM systems and the full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Possess a well-rounded commercial awareness with a strong sense of integrity and business ethics.
