The Conference Manager has responsibility for the leadership and development of the University’s conference strategy and event activities to add commercial value. The post holder will build on the existing highly successful conference and language school business and will show initiative, flexibility, personal drive and determination in a competitive market.

This is a “hands on” job leading a small team to provide and successfully deliver the highest level of customer service to guests staying at the University. The successful post holder will be a proactive, innovative and self-motivated team leader with exceptional customer-centred skills. They will be able to demonstrate significant experience, skills and abilities to effectively manage and lead the conference, event, and bed and breakfast operation.

This full-time post will require a flexible working pattern, including regular weekend and evening work together with the ability to travel locally or nationally in search of new business.

Please note this role is particularly busy during the Conference season. Holiday bookings are kept to a bare minimum during this busy time (May until September). The successful candidate will be required to work additional hours to support the conference activity during the peak periods and as such TOIL will be accrued and taken outside of the summer months.
