Would you like to use your skills to contribute to an institution that believes education transforms people's lives?

The University of Chichester is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to join its Board of Governors.

Applications are sought from those with a background in one or more of the following core skills - higher education, accountancy, human resources, audit and compliance, a legal background in a relevant discipline, marketing, estates management and development or the use of IT to support innovative teaching. Members of the Board will be expected to contribute approximately ten days a year.

Arising from forthcoming retirements, the University is also seeking to appoint, from January 2018, two governors who meet the requirements of the University's Articles of Association to act as Independent Governors recommended by the Church of England, acting through the Residual Trustees of the Bishop Otter Trust.

The mission of the University of Chichester is to be recognised as a beacon of good practice for high quality, student-centred higher education in a supportive community of learning.

With an annual turnover of GBP 50m+ and campuses in Chichester and Bognor Regis, we offer programmes in teacher education, sport, the arts, humanities and social sciences and STEM subjects.  We have a successful track record for widening participation from under-represented groups, good student retention and student satisfaction.

The institution is committed to advancing equality and valuing diversity and welcomes applications from individuals who can enhance the diversity of the Board's membership.
The role is a voluntary position and therefore not remunerated, although reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

Closing date for applications: 27 October 2017
Interviews for shortlisted applicants will be on 9th November.

The University of Chichester welcomes applicants from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds as they are currently under represented at this level.
