This post offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution as part of the University of Portsmouths outstanding Student Finance Centre team.

We are looking to appoint a motivated person whose principle responsibilities will be to support the Head of Department in setting and meeting strategic targets relating to use of student hardship funds and co-ordinating and overseeing student applications to the various hardship funds administered within the Centre.

This will involve responsibility for ensuring all applications are processed accurately and paid in a timely manner and to supervise, train and support relevant staff involved in this process. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring accurate records and statistical information is collated ensuring absolute attention to detail.

They will also contribute to the provision of accurate and up-to-date financial information and guidance for students, and prospective students both internally and externally, through the provision of student and staff inductions/presentations, financial workshops and interactive exercises.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the broader agenda and challenges facing the HE Sector and the associated financial support systems. They must also have recent experience in supervising staff or managing projects, demonstrate they are an excellent team player, possess excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
