Pricing Analyst, Dorset. Up to £36,000 plus excellent benefits.

You'll investigate, recommend and implement process & pricing improvements within the pricing team and with external relationships to improve the pricing capability.
Your experience in pricing means that you'll have the skill and knowledge to identify and implement controls to pricing and operational process and develop new technologies to ensure the business operates at an optimised performance level.

• Monitor and analyse the performance and profile of personal lines accounts from a risk perspective.
• Develop pricing recommendations and new pricing concepts
• Identify and monitor market trends.
• Contribute to the production and maintenance of risk pricing models.
• Evaluate new product propositions in order to identify potential profitability and recommend an appropriate price position.
• To support the underwriting team in footprint reviews, providing recommendations for price changes required or the appropriate price point when moving in to new areas.
• Support the rate review process and ensure adequate tests and controls are in place to prevent rating errors.
• To innovate, develop and recommend new and enhanced management information.
• Undertake development activities to required standard.
• Gain a broad understanding of the operating practices within the Pricing department.

What you need to bring to the Risk Pricing Analyst role:
• Highly numerate – preferably with a Mathematics based qualification.
• Experience in a statistical role within the personal lines insurance industry is preferred.
• Experience of procedural statistical software e.g. SAS (Base, STAT, Macro) and / or actuarial packages e.g. EMBLEM, Rate Assessor & Optimiser a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of insurance products and distributions.
• Experience within the general insurance industry either in a pricing or MI function.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret data and make recommendations.
• Capacity to learn new software tools for data manipulation & statistical modelling.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines.
• Ability to deal with and influence colleagues at all levels.
