JOB PURPOSE Maximise sales and profit opportunities by researching potential customers and promoting new business

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY * Dealing with sales inquiries * Processing sales orders* Progressing suppliers*  Health & Safety/Environmental/Quality* Carry out miscellaneous duties.

 

DEALING WITH SALES INQUIRIES * Provide and follow up quotations via telephone* Recommend changes to and maintain customer discount terms

 

PROCESSING SALES ORDERS* Process orders received by telephone, fax and post (including scheduled orders)* Sources suppliers for specials and input orders* Deal with direct deliveries from supplier to customer* Control 'call off orders'* Control consignment stock* Process credit notes

 

PROGRESSING SUPPLIERS* Action customer back order report

CARRY OUT MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES * Manage Consignment Stock* Organise collection of goods as required* Circulate computer reports as necessary* Feedback information to external sales people as appropriate* Feedback to Customer Services any discrepancies shown on products on the system* Complete/action Customer Service Query forms and attend to minor customer queries* General Customer Services* Part complete daily control sheet* Keep up to date on new suppliers/products * Attend Branch Meetings * Type letters as required * Maintain work area to a neat and tidy condition * Carry out stocktaking duties at annual stock take * Carry out other adhoc duties as requested by the management * Comply with health and safety policy/procedure KEY SKILLS * Telephone Manner* Microsoft Excel* Microsoft Outlook* Microsoft Word.
