The permanent role of Assistant Accountant has become available at a chartered accountancy in Yeovil. The position will be part-time and will pay 22k pro rata. The Assistant Accountant role will involve supporting the accountants in preparation of clients' accounts to trial balance and handling of VAT returns.

The successful candidate will:

- Have experience working in an accountancy practice previously
- Have the skills to prepare accounts to trial balance
- Have experience of processing VAT returns
- Have a background in general administration
- Be proficient using SAGE and Excel to an intermediate level
- Not require training in any aspect of preparation of accounts

This role would suit those who have prior life or work commitments and thus are looking to ideally work five short days a week or similar to cover existing staff, working approx. 20-25 hours total.
