Commercial Refrigeration Service Engineer (based Plymouth)

We are pleased to announce that we have a vacancy at our Service operation in Plymouth for a Commercial Refrigeration Service Engineer.

The Engineer will be required to carry out on-site installation and commissioning of completed systems, maintenance, service and repair and trouble-shooting (involving diagnosis of electrical and mechanical systems problems) of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning; this without direct supervision and within a pre-set timescale. He will liaise directly with the customer/client to ensure work is carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential business.

There is a requirement to give technical detailed reports on work carried out, or further work necessary to restore plant to optimum operating efficiency and to correctly complete work reports/timesheets to enable invoices to be submitted with minimum delay.

We require a time served engineer, with at least three years post apprenticeship experience, safe handling of Refrigerants (C&G F-Gas 2079) and proven competency in electrical/mechanical trouble shooting on refrigerating/air conditioning systems.

Experience of Safe Handling of Ammonia and hydrocarbons is not essential but would be considered and advantage. Flexibility is required as the role will involve working overtime at short notice and participation in a stand-by rota. The engineer will require good communication skills. Base Salary circa £22,000 - £25000 (dependant on experience), Company Van, 6% Company Contribution to Stakeholder Pension Plan, eligibility for branch incentive payment on achieving targets and 25 days holiday.
