Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Naval)–Plymouth–£27000pa-£30000pa

Our client specialise in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.

The successful candidates' primary responsibility will be the repair and maintenance of strategic deterrents within the Naval Industry.

Responsibilities;
• Working on live systems in their operating environment rather than in a lab or development environment.
• Hands on work on testing, fixing, replacing etc. of a variety of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Writing of reports and documentation such as test plans and reports.

Experience and Qualifications;
• Minimum HNC or equivalent level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related subject is essential.
• A broad, practical skill base in mechanical and electrical areas with a bias towards electrical engineering.
• The ability to learn new systems and problems solve/trouble shoot.
• Demonstrably good written communication skills for report and documentation.
• Hands on experience with a variety of electrical subsystems.
• Experience with working on naval vessels or other ships before in a similar hands on role, particularly Vanguard class submarines if possible.
• Alternatively experience within Marine, Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas, special purpose machinery could be acceptable.

Requirements;
• Travel for training and trials work.
• Regular travel required to Scotland, Bristol etc. for training for varying lengths of time between a several weeks and several months, travel home at weekends would be fine.
• Occasional trips to the US required and also involvement in sea trials usually 1-2 weeks every 3 years or so.
• Must be able to obtain Security Clearance before starting.
